HP Logo Parody Shirt Available

HP Logo Parody Tee ShirtSo we’ve mentioned the embarassing hijinks that a certain #2 computer manufacturer have gone and gotten themselves into. It turns out not only was the head of the board illegally spying on other boardmembers and the press but also on their own employees. I guess one has to be thorough while at the top.

To celebrate these excessive abuses of power Militant Geek has created the special, limited time HP logo parody T-Shirt. Why did this design get accepted but the ‘Layoffs Inside‘ T’s get turned down? Can’t really say but grab these while you still can.

Polling Added! Help make a Shirt!

Militant Geek LogoAs much as we’d like to run Militant Geek and its T-Shirt shop as a dictatorship the sad truth is that things would get stale pretty quickly. Geeks are extremely bright people with a propensity for wit. Not tapping that in a manner most democratic would be like gathering cheese just for its conversational value…or something.

We are pleased to announce the chance to let you, empowered reader, to help us create a new design. To the right (->) on the sidebar you’ll see a snazzy new polling option. Just tell us the best way to immortilize Web 2.0’s hype. The poll will run until Sunday, September at which point we’ll put up something equally as participatory.

‘Explicit Contempt’ T-Shirt Out!

Buy now for $23.99 from the Militant Geek T-Shirt Shop
There are certain levels of contempt. There is the oh-so-subtle my-lawn-is-better-than-your-lawn eye squint. There is the derogatorry thoughts and quickened step around a homeless person. And then there is suing your customers because they are seeking alternatives to your price gouged wares.
Militant Geek is proud to announce the release of our ‘Explicit Contempt’ T-shirt. We lovingly took a standard ‘Explicit Lyrics’ logo, sat it down, showed it how we can use a P2P application to make an informed decision about the latest Paris Hilton album, and *Viola!* IT CHANGED ITS STRIPES! Honest! True story… well, having to first sample a Paris Hilton album to know it’s crap is a lie…

The HP Debacle

HP - InvestigateWhat can I say about HP’s board of directors that hasn’t already been said? How is it that the nation’s #2 computer company be embroiled in the kind of petty spin usually reserved for a school board election? Where is the company that started the geek-garage-startup-tradtion amid boardroom wiretapping and administrative vendettas?

I’m sure there are several extremely talented geeks in HP’s employ. But good luck seeing the brilliance shine through this latest mass of muck flowing from the leadership. Somewhere Carly Fiorina is cackling over her usual meal of ineptitude and arrogance.

‘Layoffs Inside’ Design Rejected

Intel - Layoffs Inside Parody LogoIf you’ve been following the recent depressing news coming out of Intel you know that there’s a lot of fine geeks who will be ‘transitioning’ and taking on ‘new creative challenges’ - 10,000 to be exact. Militant Geek wanted to release a special design to celebrate this special occasion. After all, how often does massive, livelihood upheavel happen? How much longer can I continue being facetious?

Unfortunately, vengence of the apparel sort will have to wait. Our store rejected our design of pink slip anger. The reason?

“you have one or more products or designs that are likely copyright protected by a third party.”

*Yawn. I’m simply too tired to read legaleese at the moment. But surely there is some parody-ic justice?

Welcome to the Militant Geek Morse Code. Plan on this being the place for all the irreverent technology news that’s fit to print. Of course, what good is absurd non-sequiturs if they can’t be placed on shirts? Geekdom has it’s own brand of humor and there’s no time like the present to display it proudly. It’s time to launch the propaganda; it’s time to fight for a Geek friendly future. After all, why be meek when you can be geek?
