Apple: Think Pretentious
It was somewhere around the point in the ’self pity’ ad where the ‘PC’ was curled in the fetal position that I had had enough. Sure, I intially thought the ‘Get a Mac‘ ads were funny, if not a little misleading. But frankly if I see anymore of some punk ass kid telling me I can fart roses with the right hardware I’m going to yodel at an unreasonable level.
Macs are machines, like any other tool. Sometimes making the leap from Windows to Apple is painful. Sometimes that pretty hardware doesn’t last so long. And yes, sometimes, they even crash for no reason. Of course we’ll never hear about these issues in a stylish ad - Apple is just too busy being smug in a lopsided debate.
How come we never see a Mac vs PC commercial comparing gaming on the two platforms? Oh yeah, there was one…
That all brings us back to this week’s newest Militant Geek T-Shirt. It’s just not fair that the Apple logo that we know and love has all the hubris of a barn raising in Quaker country. It’s time to guss that thing up for the pedestal Macs apparently belong on. Apple: Think Pretentious.
Apple: Think Pretentious Shirts start at $19.99 in the Militant Geek store.
