Soylent Green Shirt

Soylent Green Geek Tshirt ImageToday’s Geek shirt is not only brimming with sci-fi sweetness but is equally intriguing for movie buffs. It’s from Kindred T-shirts and is entitled ‘Time to Make Donuts!’. And while you may not be familiar with Soylent Green, you are most definitely familiar with Charlston Heston. Yes, the man who gave us “Take your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape” ended this flick with the declaration “Soylent Green, IT’S PEOPLE!” (imagine a man who’s been suffering constipation for years being told that there are several over the counter remedies and you’ve about got the correct vocal inflection here). Now if we could just get a T-Shirt which appropriately sets up Zardoz and my cheesy 70’s sci-fi wardrobe would be complete.

‘Time to Make Donuts’ will soon be available from the Kindred marketplace for $24.95. Hat tip to Fantastic Bonanza.

Yesterday I profiled a brand spanking new robot tee from Threadless. Today’s robot shirt depicts the dark side of human-metalman relations. It’s from Oddica, the appropriately named purveyors of detailed, quirky, and - dare I say - odd designs. In the selected shirt we see a large robot of boxy variety rendering suburbia asunder. Of course, after watching James Howard Kunstler on the topic I think I’m ready to side with those whose mommas are snowblowers.

Friendly Robot by Rocky Davies at Oddica is printed on American Appearal and is available for $20.

Diodes are a Girls Best Friend Shirt

Diodes are a Girls Best Friend Geek TShirtThreadless is quickly becoming the reason why I look forward to Mondays. Why? Because that’s the day that they unveil their latest and greatest apparel. Today was no exception with the usual interesting/clever/beautiful designs. In particular interest to the Geek crowd is Travis Pitts’ Diodes Are a Girls Best Friend tee. Featuring a teal rocketing robot and cheetah bikini clad heroine it’s at once playful as it is an adept commentary on the events of the recent G8 summit…

… just kidding on that last part. But it is a kickass t-shirt. What geek doesn’t love robots and cartoon sensuality?

I'm in Your Shirt Customized ImageVia Wonderland comes a fantastic wearable concept from the ThinkGeek folks: a t-shirt that comes with a washable marker so you can customize it to your current geek obsession.

Prices range from $16.99-$18.99. ThinkGeek offers a few suggestions to help new shirt owners get started:

I'm in Your Shirt ImageVisiting in-laws? We recommend, “im in ur offspring sproutin’ ur family tree.” Stuck at the office? May we suggest, “im in ur meeting eatin’ ur donuts.” Out for some wardriving? How about “im in ur unsecured network downloadin’ ur pr0n.” Techs could proudly wear their own “im in ur computer upgradin’ ur RAM” shirts. Or for a more recursive bent, how about “im in ur lolbots crashin’ ur server”?

Geek Tees Today on eBay

Diligent surfers of this site may have noticed that over the weekend we put a slick eBay widget in the sidebar. Sometimes the best geek t-shirts aren’t new but the vintage stuff off in someone’s closet. Whether antique corporate shwag, handmade tech homages, or kitschy promotions gone bad our ‘Today on eBay’ piece will highlight those T’s that we’ve linked to in our sidebar.

When Keynotes Suck: Worst Keynote Ever Tee

Apple Geek Worst Keynote Ever T-ShirtYou’ve got to hand it to Apple’s Steve Jobs: he’s elevated the practice of product pitching to an artform. The problem, however, is with art comes an awful lot of expectation. So when the 2007 Apple Developer conference was a bit of a snoozer geeks were quick to pile on - including Rick from MacMerc who let his sentiments be known in T-shirt form.

The shirt has gone to be something of story itself. Crunch Gear has linked to it. Gizmodo also has a post. Even the T-shirt connoisseurs are getting into the act.

Timely tech news + wearable spite = great Tee!

RootKit Love Tee Sale At Firewheel Design

RootKits by Sony parody imageAs you may remember Sony got into a bit of a pickle in the Christmas of 2005 when intrepid sleuths discovered that Sony music CD’s were installing rootkits onto user’s machines. The trials and tribulations continued well into 2006, causing some (like yours truly) to whip of T-Shirt designs like the one on the right. (We’ve since retired those shirts from the store.)

I love rootkitFirewheel Design, the fine folks behind useful apps like Blinksale and IconBuffet are getting rid what’s left of their Rootkit T first run. In full Firewheel fashion the design is fun and bubbly. They’re 100% pure cotton and are priced at $15. Shipping is $4 to anywhere in the US.

PC Mag: 10 Shirts Geeks Should Wear

Wii Controller ShirtPC Mag recently posted an article boldly titled “10 T-shirts Every Geek Should Wear” (special thanks to Dan who shot us a heads up from our contact page). Sure, there’s the usual Blog indifference along with some very cool shirts you most definitely don’t want to expose to water.

The selections run from the common (Hot Topic) to the obscure but, in all cases, links are provided where the shirts can be bought. Probably not the most outrageous or interesting designs but worth a look none-the-less.
