Etsy Week: Analog vs Digital Geek Shirt

Analog vs. Digital Geek T-ShirtAll this week on MilitantGeek we’re scouring the hand-crafted depths of Etsy, a fantastic outlet of unique wonders. While there is a ton of stuff that either isn’t relevant (or just plain ugly) the diligent geek can discover some wonderful treasures to be worn. Here is one of them!

Today’s Etsy pick comes from the SnowConeCollective shop. Cleverly combining stylized versions of the items overwhelming any geek’s workspace, this shirt is simply awesome. The design is printed on American Apparel shirts (therefore they tend to run toward the small size) and is available for $18. Because, like much on Etsy, these shirts are hand made there are only a limited number available. If you want make sure to grab yours ASAP.

Fake Steve Jobs Shirt for Your Apple Geek

Fake Steve Jobs Apple Geek ShirtSome facts: (1) Halloween is next week. (2) You are looking for a costume that’s easy, yet a bit more clever than last year’s Michael-Arrington-blue-shirt-special. (3) You’ve got no A-list ideas of your own and are willing to flog a tech story that died several months ago and was really only of interest to incestuous press-types anyway.

The solution: Do a Valleywag and turn to Fake Steve Jobs! Or, in the costume’s case, the people at Indie Tech. They’ve got a Fake Steve Jobs TShirt for your blogsphere hack junkie/Mac acolyte. What’s even better is they’ve also got a black turtleneck version. The shirt is $15 and the turtleneck is $20. Reality distortion field not included.

WiFi Detecting Light Up Shirt

WiFi Light Up ShirtThis T-Shirt may have taken awhile to get to us (ThinkGeek (Affiliate Link, Non-Affiliate Link) via Gizmodo via Boing Boing Gadgets) but that doesn’t mean it is any worse for wear. Yes, that’s right: It lights up when in the presence of wifi signals. In full disclosure this is just the sort of thing that may get you arrested at airports in the US - but anywhere else it’s time to get the light bright on!

The shirt detects either ‘B’ or ‘G’ networks, runs for hours off three AAA batteries, and is $29.99. The mirror required to see updates for yourself is extra.

Sale at TenBills.com: Buy 3 Tees Get 1 Free with Special Code

The guys over at TenBills.com were kind enough to let me know they’ve got a killer promotion going - use the code ‘FREETEEWITHTHREE’ and get a free shirt when you buy three at regular price. And let me be clear when I talk about regular price: I’m talking a eye, popping, wallet pleasing $10 a piece. Last time I checked I couldn’t event go to a movie solo (happens alot) without spending $10. And believe me, the stuff from TenBills is a whole lot more fun to wear than a popcorn bucket.

First Flight Robot TShirtTake, for example, the fantastic robot design entitled ‘First Flight’ by Michael Phillips. It’s got some incredible detail, a bold/big image, and expresses the kind of euphoria that lead Johnny 5 to declare “I’m Alive!”. Even if you don’t pick this shirt, however, it’s hard to go wrong with Ten Bills. All shirts are exclusively design and sure to please. Remember, use FREETEEWITHTHREE on checkout and tell them the MilitantGeek sent you.

The Period Table of Geek Sustenance TShirt

Chemistry Tasty Table Geek ShirtAlocoholics Chemistry geeks have it rough. While some examples do exist there just aren’t that many wearable examples for this unique addiction niche.

However, Threadless is trying to change that. This week they released their ‘Tasty Table’ TShirt. It cleverly rewrites the period table with all those things necessary for life as we know it (it starts with alcohol and ice and runs through vermouth). Guy’s tees start at $15 and are available in shirt and hoody styles. Pick one up for your favorite alcoholic chemist today.

Shirt for the Photo Geek

Photo Geek ShirtI’ll be the first to admit I’m not exactly a shutter bug. Sure, I’ve got an ok digital camera floating around but I don’t obsess about chronicling my every waking moment (who do I think I am? Justin?) However, I can appreciate a good camera homage when I see one. This great T-Shirt from Insanely Great Tees is the perfect walk-n-wear for the paparazzi in your life - or at least for the person who knows what those symbols mean.

All sizes priced at $17. Hat tip to Marc Perton for the sighting.

Threadless ‘Life on Graph Paper’ Geek Shirt

Life on Graph Paper Geek ShirtEvery Monday Threadless releases their latest designs and every Tuesday my wallet finds itself a bit thinner. Their latest consumerist-behavior inducing product is Life on Graph Paper, a fanciful homage to those days when I had more homework than sense. Oh, the agony as I now realize I could have been creating pixelated creaters of mirth and wonder instead of plotting the first ten values of (sin x) / y!

Shirts start at $15. I’ve got two different ways of checking out this T. First, if you’d like to help a brother out, try the affiliate link. Or it that isn’t peachy keen then use the non affiliate link.
