What is Russia’s greatest gift to the west? Is it parastroka? Neyt. TaTu? Getting warmer. Vodka? Close there comrade but for most geeks the greatest gift given from the motherland was Tetris. Alexey Pajitnov originally designed the game in June 1985 while working for the Dorodnicyn Computing Centre of the Academy of Science in Moscow. Little did he know that he had unlocked the puzzle to gamer’s hearts everywhere.
