Tee Comic: Celebri-tee

Ever see a celebrity endorsed product and wonder “what were they thinking”? Or, more importantly, “who buys this crap”? We’ll, recently the guys around the MilitantGeek office went through those exact same questions:

Micrcoscope Fans - Your Apparel is Here!

Woven Flesh probably isn’t a tee shop on the tips of most connoisseur’s tongues. However, as I have seen time and time again its worth trolling the backwaters because you’ll inevitably stumble upon something wonderful - like this shirt, Marine Lab. It’s a great design for all the microscope lovers in the audience.

Don’t worry about the 350,000 price tag. Woven Flesh has all costs in Danish Kroner. Shipping to America will cost you a pretty penny but, for a unique science tee, you may feel that its worth it.

Evolution of the Legoman TShirt

There are times when a t-shirt is so wonderful, so well done that it races through the Tee blogging Internet like chlamydia through a frat house. “Evolution” from Glennz Tees is one of those pieces of apparel. It does cost $19.95 - and is worth every stud sized penny.

The question, after covering a number of Glennz tees on this site - Deflated Defenses and R2-D2 Scrap Metal - is just how dialed in to geek culture can a company be? Is Glennz the next ThinkGeek - but with better design?

Empire Strikes Barack TShirt

After his overseas whirlwind world tour, Barack Obama returns states-side to find his newest opponent is… the empire? Perhaps so if one of the latest t-shirts from Snorg Tees is to be believed. Tip of the hat to Fashionably Geek for the excellent find. The shirt sells for $16.95 - get yours before Obama’s perilous fight against the forces of Vader is over… or something.

Of course it does raise the interesting question - where’s the shirts depicting McCain as Emperor Palpatine? Surely there’s some comic hilarity that could be mined there. That political/star wars mashups probably do have their limits, however. I would hate to dwell on just which political personality deserves to be re-imagined in Princess Leia’s slave getup… *shudders.

Transformers Playing Heavy Metal?

Viktor was kind enough to brave speaking in a second language to let me know about his clothing line, Lapicerdo:

First of all, please apologize my horrible english! We write you from Lapicerdo.com, a spanish-based tshirt shop featuring designs from cultural icons and messages of our teen ages. Many of our t-shirts feature worldwide known icons, so we recently set up an English version of our web. We will feel proud if you come to see our auto-designed hand-printed t-shirts in http://shirts.lapicerdo.com

Normally emails like this would be filed under ‘later’. However, there were two wonderful exception’s in the case of Lapicerdo. The first was the incredibly awesome ‘Giants of Metal’ T-Shirt. Showing a pair of Transformers rocking out it almost epitomizes every pubescent fantasy I had (with the exception of the gal from Weird Science). The second was that all MilitantGeek readers can get 20% off any Lapicerdo order. Just use the code ‘GEEK’ in the message box when making an order.

Big kudos to Viktor - you made this Geek’s day!

Identity Theft T-Shirt

The obviously astute eyes at the ShirtFind blog recently laid their peepers on this beauty: Identity Theft from Fullbleed TShirts. Somehow the tee reminds me of those rediculously over the top Bond movie intros. It also has reminded me that I have yet to sandpaper off my own prints. I wonder why I keep putting that off?

Indentity Theft is available for $16.00.

Tee Comic: Looking to Warhol for Inspiration…

The latest in the ongoing mis-adventures behind the scenes at MilitantGeek finds Morton looking for inspiration. He finds it in some less known Andy Warhol quotes. However, not everything left on permanent record is fit for flights of fancy…

Caps Lock Courtesy TShirt

I’ve previously featured Bad Designer’s Comic Sans. The store specializing in web based faux pas is back with the lovely “Stop Yelling At Me” chastisement. Of course, anyone who has participated in a forum in the last ten years probably already learned this lesson. However, a stern reminder here and there never hurts.

Stop Yelling available for $20 (shipping included) from Bad Designer Threads.

Sexy Shirt for Math Fiends

Its been awhile since I’ve posted a math based tshirt to the site and - low and behold - Gifts for a Geek has stepped up to the plate. As the abacus adults among us have already figured out this shirt spells out ‘Sexy’ using nothing but mathematical notation. Wearing this means that you’ll not only be physically impressive but intellectual hot as well.

‘Sexy’ math tees from the ‘Gifts for a Geek’ Cafepress store - prices for the shirts are in the low $20 range.

Dark Side of the Garden - Reprinted!

Threadless has great tshirts. That’s nothing new and a lot of people know that. The problem that it causes, however, is that sometimes great tshirts are sold out before you have the scratch to buy one.

One of the best of recent memory was ‘Dark Side of the Garden’ - who doesn’t love the idea of Darth Vader participating in a little topiary distraction? AND IT’s BACK! Threadless, thankfully, has the good sense to reprint some lovely must-haves. The second time around a men’s shirt will cost you $17. Finally, don’t care for affiliate links to help out this site? No prob - here’s the non-affiliate link.
