Updating a post from Monday Paul has now blogged that Conduit.com, the technology provider behind the toolbar, resembles a large vacuum cleaner of outrageous ability (ie. it sucks). You can read the full account at Buy-Tees.net.
I just want to make it clear – it was never my intention to inspire an abandonment of the project by pointing out the ‘meh’ factor of the toolbar in its current state. I think there could be an opportunity there. It was certainly an interesting way of packaging together related links. If there are Firefox developers out there who have some ideas on a different way of doing things I encourage you to drop Paul a line. [I couldn't find a direct contact page and don't want to publish the email address that I have online without his permission - best bet is to use the email addresses located on the reviews page; I'm sure that will get through].

No you were right mate, Conduit create more problems than they solve. Essentially it came down to complaints about installation problems which was the last straw.
I’m off to Africa for a week and thought it best to pass on the helm to another t-shirt blogger.
I’m seriously considering buying toolbar studio when I get back (if I can get one of my PCs to work lol).
Don’t take it personally, your criticism was not the reason for the fate of the toolbar, essentially we need a Firefox and IE developer to keep it fair. However I think they’d want paying and as there’s no real money in it I’m not sure where it will go.
If people wants to help with the original Conduit version they can contact Anthony who owns http://www.teefeeds.com/ and http://www.t-shirtrater.com/.
I have never liked co-branded software, at least my post caught the attention of Conduit who are famed for their slow support – I’ve passed on Anthony’s details to them and hopefully he can have words.
Basically I’ve made a big mistake, I trusted that a piece of free co-branded software could do the job and in all honesty it couldn’t. I think there’s a lot of viable options out there for the right api programmer who can build blog widgets and Facebook apps, they could even add a little advertising on the side, but as I’ve mentioned I’m not that guy. I didn’t even get a maths ‘O’ Level which tells you something about my predicament lol.
Ah well, thanks for the props, I will pass on anyone’s suggestions to Anthony – people can contact me with ideas at submissions@buy-tees.net – it should be up there on the blog at http://buy-tees.net/submit/
Cheers Mate – I’m off for a tan and a wander around the markets of Marrakesh
As Paul mentioned you did not contribute to the demise. The toolbar is still alive in its current state while we see what conduit, which I have had contact with today, can do about the issues that have arisen. If anything you have provided some excellent suggestions that would make for a better tool and I think there are a lot of people making note of those. I have to agree that there is an opportunity here and at the very least it provides a learning experience and a starting point that can be built upon. I’d love to hear any other suggestions you or anyone else has.
Thanks,
Anthony
