Excellent Star Wars T-Shirt on tap today by way of Geekoloogie and sold through Zazzle.com. As you can see, the creator has taken a classic nearly-25 year old battle scene and combined it with modern disparaging sensibilities. The design initially raised an eyebrow – “How in the world did some schmo clear their Zazzle store with Lucas?”. However, a quick couple clicks revealed this tee is part of the larger Star Wars Zazzle storefront. These are the same guys that brought us the Star Wars Election shirts from earlier this year and worn by Tina Fey. The marketing and distribution relationship obviously is continuing beyond the election runoffs. The question then is why? I’m sure LucasArts has the resources to do their own online store. Why partner with a print-on-demand specialist like Zazzle.com and loose the cut of production revenues?
