The IT Crowd is a fantastic BBC sitcom that deals with a small cadre of IT office workers. In its two (and now three) seasons its become known for the wealth of geeky gear scattered about and upon the actors. Case in point: in season 3, episode 1 we are immediately greeted by one of the main characters modeling a classic Diesel Sweeties tee. Venn diagrams are already pretty elitist. Combine it with music snobbery and seen on a British sitcom and you’ve got a sure-fire hipster homerun. Tees available for about $17.

I know it’s a bit pedantic, but the show is actually on channel 4. Great show though, I live all the little geeky bits that they throw in, the actual storylines aren’t particularly geeky, which makes it accessible, but then they have a second layer of jokes for ‘those in the know’.
Bah. Us ignorant Americans use terms like ‘United Kingdom’, ‘England’, and ‘Great Britian’ interchangeably – as if there was no difference (and don’t even get me started on the ‘pseudo’ territories of Guernsey and Jersey). Why we bother with the distinctions of your television channels when a callous catch-all like ‘BBC’ works?
I think the IT must have a thing for cool t-shirts. This weeks episode had Roy wearing (what looks like) a classic Battle Royal T-shirt from Airside.

I know they do; earlier this year the writer for the IT Crowd had an open request for geeky items to be included on the show ( http://militantgeek.com/2008/08/13/help-cloth-the-cast-of-the-it-crowd/ ).
At the time I emailed to recommend some of my favorite geek t-shirt stores, including Glennz Tees, WearScience!, and assorted direct links to some Threadless designs. Can’t wait to see if any of those actually make the show!
