Its simply not enough just to love good design. To truly geek out you’ve got to specialize. In this case its a love of typefaces, specifically Optima, that lead to the shirt that you see to the left. Originally spotted by Geekaloogie and later run on Gizmodo, this shirt from a Zazzle store would be sure to be a hit for the designer, right?

Wrong. In the time it hit the geekscape (around Nov 26) till I got around to posting about it (Dec 2) something odd has happened. Following the links back to the Zazzle store to purchase said wonder will direct you to the abomination of storefront modeling to the left. Never mind the really, really cool design has been yanked for what I can only assume was after an unjust cease-and-desist letter. (Is killing my childhood not enough for you, Michael Bay? You need to kill inspired beauty too? What’s next – Puppies?) What’s really terrifying IS THAT ZAZZLE IS SHRINKING MODEL’S HEADS IN AN EFFORT TO INCREASE PHOTOGRAPHING EFFICIENCIES! Think about it – you’ve got a ka-jillion items that you have to have modeled day in and day out. Shrink a head or two and -BLAMO- a person can now switch in and out of a shirt 20% faster.
Or maybe their photoshop is just off. Either one.
