Although it seems a bit early to be thinking about Halloween makers of superhero duds are already rolling out their 2009 wares. Costume Craze is no different. And while there’s a great number of treats for the kids a pattern begins to emerge while quickly scan through the female outfits:
I’m not going to go and pull a comic book guy like rant lamenting how only the Emma Frost costume (~$70) is even close to the source material. What I do want to emphasize that these outfits wouldn’t stop a stiff breeze, let alone a murderous villain. Ok, they’re naughty, I get that. And, really, they aren’t that much worse that would you would find in the floppies. But while the male heroes are armored up to the gills being a superheroine apparently means go-go boots and gravity denying cleavage. The only vaguely conservative female costume that I could find was Legolas (elf, female, same diff).
*sigh. I’m still waiting on the official Ghost World outfits. That would be swank.
Hat tip to Fashionably Geek for the find.
