You may recall a few months ago the Zazzle news was pretty dour – 15% of its staff had been given its walking papers. The bleeding must have stopped, however, because this morning comes word that it’s expanding localized offices in Australia and Canada. What’s more it’s upping its UK presence. It’s even expanding its offerings: beyond the usual t-shirt and mouse pads Zazzle now even allows you to customize dog apparel (if you’re into that sort of thing).
No word, however, on when they plan to fix their shrunken head problem. Zazzle was founded in 1999 by Robert Beaver and his two sons. It competes with other Print-On-Demand (POD) sites Cafepress and Spreadshirt.

I don’t think they are going to have offices abroad yet. They are just creating localized sites which will use those countries’ domains and display the prices in the respective currencies. Not that I’m complaining mind you. I’m pretty sure that it will lead to more sales for Zazzle shopkeepers like me.
That would certainly make a lot of sense – the plan you laid out would require nothing more than some dev time. However, you don’t think they would have some local print shops, at the very least, lined up to help out with load? I suppose they could just print everything in the US; but I would think shipping from a US location clear to Australia would add considerable time delays and unnecessary cost.
Anyone know if this is more than just some cosmetic changes to the current site under a different domain?
