Human Core T-Shirt

If you scour the Internet for the finest geek t-shirts for any amount of time eventually you’ll end up on SplitReason, a collection of gamer and computer-centric designs. Browsing through their excellent men’s line I came across the Humancore III Human Circuit T-Shirt, an excellent play on Intel’s Pentium golden age of old.

Shirts are $17.95 (gray only) and ship within 2-5 days.

Intel Layoffs (Again); Workers Flee Drab Cubes

Intel Layoffs Inside Parody LogoSure, last week’s news of 1000 heads-a-rolling wasn’t as fearsome as last year’s 10,000-strong pink slip parade. Even so, we’re a little surprised to see that there isn’t much outcry over fellow geeks on the chopping block.

As Conan O’Brian points out during a recent trip to an Intel plant it might have something to do with the drab work conditions. His visit to the gray-on-gray cubical madness of Intel is in sharp contrast to the creative wet dream inducer of Industrial Light and Magic. After seeing the two videos side by side it may very well be the geeks are just looking for convenient ways out. (Quick, watch the video before NBC also decides to sue YouTube for helping build and spread its media brands.)

‘Layoffs Inside’ Design Rejected

Intel - Layoffs Inside Parody LogoIf you’ve been following the recent depressing news coming out of Intel you know that there’s a lot of fine geeks who will be ‘transitioning’ and taking on ‘new creative challenges’ - 10,000 to be exact. Militant Geek wanted to release a special design to celebrate this special occasion. After all, how often does massive, livelihood upheavel happen? How much longer can I continue being facetious?

Unfortunately, vengence of the apparel sort will have to wait. Our store rejected our design of pink slip anger. The reason?

“you have one or more products or designs that are likely copyright protected by a third party.”

*Yawn. I’m simply too tired to read legaleese at the moment. But surely there is some parody-ic justice?
